    Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX: NST) is a global-scale Australian gold producer with projects in Australia and North America. 

    Northern Star currently has gold production centres at its Kalgoorlie and Yandal projects in Western Australia and the Pogo goldfields in Alaska.

    The company has built its asset base through strategic acquisitions and continues to invest in exploration.

    Mr Tonkin has more than 25 years of experience working in the underground hard-rock mining industry. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Northern Star in November 2016 and had been the Company's Chief Operating Officer since 2013. Mr Tonkin was appointed Managing Director on 22 July 2021. Prior to joining Northern Star, he was Chief Operating Officer for mining contractor Barminco, and a Non-Executive Director of African Underground Mining Services Ghana.
