About Mineral Resources Ltd
Mineral Resources Ltd (ASX: MIN) is a leading mining services company with a portfolio of mining operations across multiple commodities, including iron ore and lithium.
Its mining services segment provides pit-to-port services to clients across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. The company also operates mine sites in the Pilbara and Goldfields regions, shipping its product through Port Hedland and Esperance.
Mineral Resources is now Australia's fifth-largest producer of iron ore with three iron ore hubs and another two in development. It aims to become a top five lithium hydroxide producer, creating a cost advantage through a vertically integrated business model which will see the company manufacture batteries.
The company listed on the ASX in 2006 after the merger of three mining services businesses. The subsidiary companies were previously owned by managing director Chris Ellison, who remains a large shareholder.
