There are only a few truly important dates of the year when it comes to Commonwealth Bank of Australia (ASX: CBA) shares. On a few key days, we hear about the business's profit and performance and a few other important dates related to the CBA dividend.

The reporting seasons of February and August are particularly important because shareholders and analysts get a real look at how the last six or 12 months have gone for the company. Investors can also look at the quarterly updates from the ASX bank share for an interim insight into the bank's operational progress. The annual general meeting (AGM) can also provide some flavour for investors to be aware of.

For almost all of the rest of the year, CBA shares will react to the noise of the overall ASX share market and various economic and geopolitical events.

Australia's biggest bank recently announced its 2025 financial calendar.

FY25 half-year and full-year results

The ASX bank share revealed it's planning to report its FY25 half-year result on 12 February 2025.

Six months later, Australia's largest company is expecting to report its FY25 annual result on 13 August 2025.

In terms of earnings expectations for the 2025 financial year, I'll utilise what broker UBS is currently forecasting.

The analysts at UBS currently predict that CBA could generate $27.8 billion in revenue, $14.5 billion in pre-tax profit, and a net profit of $10.1 billion. If those projected numbers were achieved, each would represent an increase year over year from FY24. The net profit figure would also be stronger than FY23 and FY22. In other words, the FY25 profit could be very large.

The bank also announced that its 2025 annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on 15 October 2025.

Dividend dates

Many CBA investors probably want to know about passive income information, too.

The two most important types of dates to know about are the ex-dividend date and the payment date.

Investors need to own CBA shares before the ex-dividend date to be entitled to the dividend payment. Buying shares on the ex-dividend date would result in missing out on that relevant payment.

For the FY25 interim dividend, CBA announced the ex-dividend date will be 19 February 2025. According to CBA, this dividend is then scheduled to be paid "on or around" 28 March 2025.

The FY25 final dividend, announced at the time of the FY25 result, is expected to have an ex-dividend date of 20 August 2025. This dividend is expected to be paid on or around 29 September 2025.
