The market is red hot on Thursday after the United States Federal Reserve decided to keep the official US interest rate on hold for a 13th consecutive month in the range of 5.25% to 5.5%.
US markets responded positively, with the S&P 500 Index (SP: .INX) gaining 1.6% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index (NASDAQ: .IXIC) screeching 2.6% higher.
This has put a rocket under the ASX 200 today, with our benchmark index up 0.7% at its peak.
