The S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO) looks set to end the year in a subdued fashion. In afternoon trade, the benchmark index is down 0.3% to 7,594 points.
Four ASX shares that are falling more than most today are listed below. Here's why they are dropping:
Brainchip Holdings Ltd (ASX: BRN)
The Brainchip share price is down almost 2% to 17.7 cents. This follows news that the embattled semiconductor company's CEO has been selling shares. For the second time this month, CEO Sean Hehir has sold shares. This time he offloaded 368,170 Brainchip shares. Whereas at the start of the month, he sold 725,788 shares.
Chalice Mining Ltd (ASX: CHN)
The Chalice Mining share price is down over 3% to $1.71. This is despite there being no news out of the mineral exploration company. However, it is worth noting that its shares are being targeted by short sellers. This has seen short interest increase from 3% at the end of August to 5.7% today.
Perseus Mining Ltd (ASX: PRU)
The Perseus Mining share price is down 3% to $1.86. This follows a pullback in the gold price overnight after bond yields improved. Perseus isn't the only gold miner that is falling on the news. In afternoon trade, the S&P/ASX All Ordinaries Gold index is down by approximately 1.9%.
Race Oncology Ltd (ASX: RAC)
The Race Oncology share price is down 3.5% to 82 cents. Investors have been selling the oncology company's shares after the release of its preclinical and clinical program update. While Race Oncology has been very busy this year and the update reads well, it seems that some investors were expecting an even stronger release.
