The S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX: XJO) looks to be giving investors something of a recovery on the share market this Friday after the horror show that was yesterday. Heading into the weekend, the ASX 200 has, at the time of writing, added a decent 0.23% to back around 6,875 points.
So let's dig deeper into these gains today and take a glance at the ASX 200 shares that are currently topping the share market's trading volume charts, according to investing.com.
The 3 most traded ASX 200 shares by volume this Friday
Liontown Resources Ltd (ASX: LTR)
Our first ASX 200 share worth checking out this Friday is the lithium producer Liontown Resources. So far today, a hefty 12.1 million Liontown shares have been swapped on the markets. There's been no news out of the company itself today.
However, that hasn't stopped the Liontown share price from growing an impressive 4.72% at present to $1.89 a share. As we looked into this morning, these gains come after some strong action on the US markets for lithium overnight. It's probably this gain that has resulted in Liontown appearing on this list today.
Pilbara Minerals Ltd (ASX: PLS)
Next up is Liontown's fellow ASX 200 lithium share Pilbara Minerals. A sizeable 12.64 million Pilbara shares have been exchanged so far during today's session.
We seem to be looking at a similar situation to Liontown here as well: no news, but a big gain. Pilbara's rise has been a little tamer though, with the company up 2.39% at $5.15 a share. Still, this is the likely reason we are seeing this elevated trading volume.
Core Lithium Ltd (ASX: CXO)
Our third, final and most traded ASX 200 share today is yet another ASX 200 lithium stock. Core Lithium tops our most traded ASX 200 shares list at this point, with a notable 14.48 million shares swapping hands as it currently stands.
Core Lithium has also had a very large rise during today's session. This lithium company has risen by a pleasing 5.19% to $1.42 a share. Again, it is almost certainly this big rise that sees Core Lithium top today's most-traded list.
