On Wednesday one of my favourite small cap shares, Bigtincan Holdings Ltd (ASX: BTH), rocketed 25% higher to a record of 87 cents following the release of a strong second quarter update.

I believe this gain demonstrates just how rewarding small cap investing can be for investors.

With that in mind, I thought I would pick out two more small cap shares that I think are worth watching very closely in 2020. They are as follows:

Alcidion Group Ltd (ASX: ALC)

I think Alcidion could have a very bright future ahead of it and is well worth keeping a very close eye on. It is a growing informatics solutions company that offers a complementary set of software products and services that create a unique offering in the global healthcare market.

Alcidion's solutions support interoperability, allow communication and task management, and deliver clinical decision support at the point of care to improve patient outcomes. At the last count its technology was being used by 215 hospitals across the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

Audinate Group Limited (ASX: AD8)

Audinate is an exciting digital audio-visual networking technologies provider. It has been growing its revenues at a rapid rate in recent years thanks to the success of its Dante product. Audinate's award winning Dante audio over IP networking solution is the worldwide leader and used widely in the professional live sound, commercial installation, broadcast, public address, and recording industries.

It replaces traditional analogue audio cables by transmitting perfectly synchronised audio signals across large distances, to multiple locations at once, using nothing more than an Ethernet cable. Due to the quality of the Dante product and its recent move into the lucrative video market, I expect Audinate's strong revenue growth to continue in FY 2020 and beyond.

James Mickleboro has no position in any of the stocks mentioned.
