ALL ORDINARIES finishes higher Thursday: 8 shares you missed

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished higher on Thursday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) higher 0.18% to 5,840.80
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) higher 0.21% to 5,925.90
  • AUD/USD at US 71 cents
  • Gold at US$1,220.90 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$75.47 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was lithium miner Orocobre Limited (ASX: ORE), its share price went up 11.7% today.

Right behind Orocobre was travel business Corporate Travel Management Ltd (ASX: CTD), its share price rose 11.3% today, marking a strong recovery after yesterday's sell-off.

Another share to rise by double digits today was organic infant formula business Bellamy's Australia Ltd (ASX: BAL), it rose by 10.1%.

The Challenger Ltd (ASX: CGF) share price rose 3.9% today after the Government confirmed it still wanted to impose a retirement income strategy on retirees in the future.

Shares of AMP Limited (ASX: AMP) rose another 6.9% today on rumours it could be a takeover target.

The National Australia Bank Ltd (ASX: NAB) share price rose 0.6% after handing in its FY18 report to the share market.

Ausdrill Limited (ASX: ASL) shares registered the worst drop in the ASX 200 today, it fell 9.9% after giving a business update.

Finally, the Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC) share price fell 4.7% today after its AGM earlier this week.
