ALL ORDINARIES finishes higher Friday: 8 shares you missed

The S&P/ASX 200 (Index:^AXJO)(ASX:XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index:^AXAO) (ASX:XAO) finished higher on Friday.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished higher on Friday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) higher 0.22% to 5,895.70
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) higher 0.22% to 6,006.50
  • AUD/USD at US 71 cents
  • Gold at US$1,220.25 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$81.14 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was rare earth miner Lynas Corporation Ltd (ASX: LYC), its share price went up 9.2%.

Gold miners had another strong day today, despite the market generally recovering a little today. Resolute Mining Limited (ASX: RSG) was the biggest gainer, it rose 8.8%.

Afterpay Touch Group Ltd (ASX: APT) made a huge recovery after yesterday's gigantic 10% fall, it rose 7.2%. Other tech shares also went up, including Altium Limited (ASX: ALU) which gained 2.7%.

Home furnishings business Adairs Ltd (ASX: ADH) went up 1.7% today after reporting a pleasing trading update to investors.

Shares of small cap Livetiles Ltd (ASX: LVT) rose 12% after revealing its latest annualised revenue number.

Finally, infant formula businesses A2 Milk Company Ltd (ASX: A2M) and Bellamy's Australia Ltd (ASX: BAL) went up 7.2% and 6.1% respectively today despite reports that China was cracking down on the Chinese daigou industry. This could be a negative as one broker has estimated that over 75% of sales are ultimately generated by Chinese demand.
