Australia's S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO)(ASX: XJO) and ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) indices finished lower on Thursday.

Here's a short recap of the Australian market:

  • S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) lower 0.34% to 6,244.40
  • ALL ORDINARIES (Index: ^AXAO) (ASX: XAO) lower 0.21% to 6,360.30
  • AUD/USD at US 73 cents
  • Gold at US$1,188.88 an ounce
  • Brent Oil at US$74.32 a barrel

The best-performing ASX 200 share today was WiseTech Global Ltd (ASX: WTC), astonishingly it rose another 19.3% today after a strong increase yesterday in response to its result.

Another share beginning with W to fly today was Webjet Limited (ASX: WEB), the travel business' share price soared 18.2% higher in response to its report.

The Santos Ltd (ASX: STO) share price climbed 11.3% today after doubling its half year underlying profit.

The share price of Appen Ltd (ASX: APX) shot up 12.3% today, perhaps in response to other tech shares performing strongly.

Flight Centre Travel Group Ltd (ASX: FLT) shares fell 8.1% today after reporting its FY18 result and allegations of poor treatment of staff.

The Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corp Ltd (ASX: FPH) share price climbed 4% today after launching a new product and upgrading guidance.

The share price of port and logistics business Qube Holdings Ltd (ASX: QUB) climbed 8.7% on strong profit growth in its result.

Finally, ARQ Group Ltd (ASX: ARQ) shares crashed 31.8% lower after disappointing investors with its half year result and profit guidance.
