Due to technological advances the financial system is quickly being disrupted by a good number of emerging financial technology or "fintech" companies.

Three fintech companies which have made huge strides in recent times are listed below. Here's why I think they could be worth a closer look:

Afterpay Touch Group Ltd (ASX: APT)

I think this payment solutions company could have an incredibly bright future if it can replicate its Australian success in the United States. However, with a significant amount of growth already being built into its share price, I think it may be prudent for investors to hold off an investment until the company provides an update on how the business is performing overseas. Especially given how its latest update hinted that its Australian business could be maturing sooner than expected.

Bravura Solutions Ltd (ASX: BVS)

I think that this leading provider of software solutions for the wealth management, life insurance, and funds administration industries is one of the best fintech shares on the Australian share market. The main attraction to the company for me is its Sonata web-enabled administration solution. Demand for Sonata has been growing at an impressive rate and shows no signs of slowing. So much so the product now accounts for 55% of the company's overall revenue.

Hub24 Ltd (ASX: HUB)

HUB24 is a fast-growing investment and superannuation platform provider which recently reported a $595 million increase in net inflows onto its platform during the March quarter. This brought the total funds under administration (FUA) on its platform to a massive $7.4 billion. Despite the strong growth the company is exhibiting, as of the end of the December quarter it still only had a 0.8% share of total FUA. Due to the quality of its software, I expect its share of FUA to grow strongly over the next couple of years.
