The S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) appears set for a flat open this morning following a mixed session for international markets overnight.

Here's a quick recap:

  • Dow Jones (USA): down 0.36%
  • NASDAQ (USA): down 0.03%

The Woolworths Limited (ASX: WOW) share price is sure to receive some attention today after the company released its first-quarter sales results.

The company reported 4.9% comparable growth in its Australian Food division while Big W posted comparable growth of 2.9%. Overall, total first-quarter sales from continuing operations were 3.7% higher to $441 million.

Inghams Group Ltd (ASX ING), whose shares have risen nearly 16% year-to-date, will hold its annual general meeting today. In its presentation to investors, the company confirmed that its outlook remains unchanged while its improved performance in New Zealand during the second half last year has continued into the 2018 financial year.

The ResMed Inc. (CHESS) (ASX: RMD) share price could remain in focus today after the shares rose 3% to $10.97, although they did reach a fresh high of $11.09 during the session. The company produced its quarterly update with net income rising 13.2% compared to the same period last year.

The Qantas Airways Limited (ASX: QAN) share price was strong as well, rising 1.9%, while Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC) jumped 5.4%. Both could remain in the spotlight today.
