The S&P/ASX 200 (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) has had a positive start to the week and finds itself 0.5% higher to 5,730 points in afternoon trade.
Four shares climbing more than most today are listed below. Here's why they have started the week with gains:
The a2 Milk Company Ltd (Australia) (ASX:A2M) share price has climbed almost 4% to $5.37 despite there being no news out of the fast-growing dairy company. But with its shares being sold off at the end of last week, some investors appear to have taken the opportunity to snap up shares at a cheaper price.
The BT Investment Management Ltd (ASX: BTT) share price is up 3.5% to $10.78. Investors appear to have taken a shine to the fund manager after the British pound strengthened considerably last week. As BTIM generates a significant portion of its revenue in the UK, it could benefit from the favourable currency movements.
The Vocus Group Ltd (ASX: VOC) share price is up almost 4% to $2.44. This morning the telco company revealed that one of its directors has added to his indirect interest in the company with the purchase of 106,000 shares on-market.
The XERO FPO NZX (ASX: XRO) share price has climbed almost 4% to $26.48. At the start of trade today the online accounting software provider was added to the S&P/ASX 300 Index. This may have brought Xero onto the radar of a number of fund managers who previously were unable to invest in the company's shares.
