Unfortunately for its shareholders the QBE Insurance Group Ltd (ASX: QBE) share price has not performed especially well in the last couple of weeks.
Since announcing a downgrade to its full-year expectations at the end of June, the insurer's shares have fallen around 10%.
One positive is that investors buying its shares today can now expect to receive a partially franked 4.4% dividend over the next 12 months if QBE is able to maintain its current pay out.
When do you need to invest to receive it?
QBE pays its dividend in two instalments. The next instalment will be its interim dividend which traditionally is paid to shareholders in the last week of September.
The insurance giant's shares will go ex-dividend roughly five weeks earlier towards the end of August.
The final instalment is then expected to hit shareholders' bank accounts in the middle of April, having gone ex-dividend at the start of March.
