Although the Suncorp Group Ltd (ASX: SUN) share price has rallied almost 9% year-to-date, the insurance giant still provides one of the more generous dividends on the Australian share market.
In fact, if the insurer is able to maintain its current dividend, then investors can expect to receive a fully franked 4.8% dividend over the next 12 months.
When do you need to invest to receive it?
Whilst no exact date has been locked in as of yet, investors won't have long to wait to get hold of Suncorp's final dividend based on previous pay outs.
Traditionally Suncorp goes ex-dividend early-to-mid August. Shareholders can then expect to receive the final dividend in their bank accounts approximately six weeks later towards the end of September.
Then in mid-to-late February its shares go ex-dividend again for its interim dividend, which is traditionally paid to shareholders at the start of April.
