Japara Healthcare Ltd (ASX: JHC), Estia Health Ltd (ASX: EHE) and Regis Healthcare Limited (ASX: RHC) all surged between 11.4% an 13.2% on Tuesday following a government announcement. The aged care operators certainly made a splash, and could be back in focus again today.
Other businesses that enjoyed the focus on Tuesday include G8 Education Ltd (ASX: GEM) and Greencross Limited (ASX: GEM) as well as Sydney Airport Holdings Ltd (ASX: SYD).
TPG Telecom Ltd (ASX: TPM) will hold its annual general meeting today. The telecommunications sector has been hammered recently, so any trading updates could have a real impact on its shares, as well as those of rival Vocus Communications Limited (ASX: VOC).
The iron ore price edged closer to US$80 a tonne overnight, which could help Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX: FMG) and Rio Tinto Limited (ASX: RIO). BHP Billiton Limited (ASX: BHP) could also benefit, although the oil price did slip more than 2%.
