In mid-afternoon trading, the S&P / All Ordinaries Index (Index: ^AORD) (ASX: XAO) is up 0.2%, at 5,483, following gains on Wall Street on Friday.
While most large caps have seen some gains today, three ASX stocks have soared more than 17%.
iSonea Limited (ASX: ISN)
Healthcare equipment maker Isonea has surged more than 20% to 20.5 cents, despite no news from the company. iSonea makes what it claims is the world's first digital device for monitoring wheeze in asthma sufferers. A retail sales pilot with Australian pharmacies is expected to commence as soon as next month – the first time the technology is available over the counter – previously only available online.
Ambassador Oil & Gas Ltd (ASX: AQO)
The oil and gas explorer saw its shares surge 26% higher today, before the company went into a trading halt. The company says it is expecting to make an announcement regarding a 'potential material transaction'. Perhaps some people got wind of the acquisition and decided to trade ahead of the market, or would that be cynical of me?
SAI Global Limited (ASX: SAI)
The standards organisation saws its shares rise more than 17% (74 cents) after the company received a $1.1 billion bid from a private equity firm. The offer values the shares above $5.00, but analysts suspect another higher bid could be forthcoming, with Moelis analysts suggesting a $6 price tag.
