The ASX has had a quiet start to the final trading session of the week with the S&P/ASX 200 Index (Index: ^AXJO) (ASX: XJO) up 0.05% at midday.

On Wall Street overnight US stocks traded sideways after mixed economic data. On the positive side was an upward revision in US GDP growth for the fourth quarter and a drop in US jobless claims; on the negative side US home sales fell in February.

The Australian dollar's move above US93 cents overnight has captured investors' attention this morning, with little else in terms of company or economic news to influence participants.
