Tony Abbott – either light-heartedly or demeaningly, depending on your perspective and your politics – commented on a Liberal party candidate's 'sex appeal' at a federal election campaign stop in Penrith yesterday.
We won't wade into the controversy, per se, but it did leave us wondering – what ASX companies have the most sex appeal.
The local bourse has its share of 'sexy' companies, with Delecta Limited (ASX: DLC) better known by many under its former moniker of AdultShop.com, and which sells a range of adult products including 'games and giggles' according to the company description. Another, Planet Platinum Limited (ASX: PPN) runs a bar called Showgirls Bar 20, operates a rental property leased by the Daily Planet business, which advertises itself as the "largest and most exclusive bordello in the southern hemisphere".
Of course, if something more mainstream is your definition of 'sex appeal', Atlas Pearls (ASX: ATP) produces and markets, well, pearls, Premier Investments (ASX: PMV) owns the Peter Alexander high-end pyjama business, UnderCoverWear (ASX: UCW) sells lingerie via party plan and OrotonGroup (ASX: ORL) is the accessory brand of choice for many who are dressing to impress.
Foolish takeaway
Boring though it may be for some, our Foolish version of 'sexy' stocks starts and stops at the shareholder return! There's not much sexier than a company that drops larger and larger dividends in your bank account every six months!
(I just hope the IT department realise those sites were for work purposes!)
